Job Summary
Medical Assistant position supporting Thoracic Surgery & Interventional Pulmonology at Intermountain Medical Center. Responsibilities include assisting the clinician to gather information relevant to the patient visit, providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, and communicating with patients via telephone and in-person interactions. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality patient care. Requires attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to protect patient privacy (PHI). Schedule: 40 hours/week, full-time, clinic hours Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with a Tuesday–Friday shift pattern varying 7:00am–5:00pm. Minimum qualifications include MA program completion or MA experience or RN/LPN license in Utah, and active BLS. Preferred qualifications include outpatient clinic experience and National MA certifications (RMA, NCMA, CCMA, CMA) and EMR proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (to be obtained prior to start date)
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
