Job Summary
Accurately schedule tests, obtain films and reports, and prepare laboratory specimens according to policy. Assist physicians and nurses with special procedures and examinations, while collaborating with the health care team to coordinate patient care plans. Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, and document all findings in medical records. Maintain orderliness of examination rooms, stock assigned areas, and ensure par levels of supplies are maintained. Greet patients, handle registration, and process insurance forms while entering ambulatory care charges. Submit prescriptions and refills electronically, and ensure all required documentation is available in medical charts. Requires BLS certification within 14 days; part-time schedule available.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- at least one year as a Medical Assistant
- CCMA or NCRMA certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Basic typing and word processing

Desired Qualifications
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or NCRMA
