Medical Assistant

Provides primary nursing support to the physician and patient to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s condition. Supports business operations through an understanding of business functions. Requires Medical Assistant Certification and knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice, policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care, use of medical equipment, record-keeping, and safety practices. Demonstrates ability to identify problems, propose solutions, maintain records, ensure quality assurance, and collaborate effectively with physicians, patients, office staff, and the public.
