Job Summary
Conduct clinical and administrative tasks supporting patient care under provider supervision, including assisting with non-invasive procedures, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for exams. Maintain exam rooms, perform patient intake duties such as reporting test results and phone triage, and document medical information as directed. Manage administrative responsibilities like pre-registering patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, and coordinating referrals. Monitor and requisition supplies to ensure appropriate inventory levels while maintaining organized logs and documentation. Educate patients on medications and diets, ensuring understanding of health-related topics. Work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm with no weekends, holidays, or call. Basic Life Support certification is required, and a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program required
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and patient care techniques
- Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and medical record systems
- Understanding of medical terminology and infection control practices
- BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) required
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of Medical Assistant program from an accredited school preferred
