Job Summary
Medical Assistant for swing shift (Tuesday–Saturday, 2:45pm–11:15pm) at Janus of Santa Cruz. Provides clinical support to physicians and assists with examinations and procedures, prepares medications, performs basic lab tests, and ensures infection control. Also handles administrative duties such as greeting and checking in clients, scheduling referrals and follow-ups, maintaining confidential medical records in the EHR, and coordinating communication among clients and interdisciplinary teams. Focus on culturally responsive, trauma-informed care within substance use disorder treatment programs, with emphasis on HIPAA compliance, accurate documentation, and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive care environment. Preferred to have experience in SUD/behavioral health and MAT programs; bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and clinical workflows
- Experience with electronic medical records (EHR/EMR) systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
