Job Summary
Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health in an ambulatory Surgical Specialists Clinic providing patient care under a clinician’s direction, assisting the provider with patient visits, and communicating with patients via phone and in-person. The role supports a cross-functional clinical team in a high-volume outpatient setting, with 40 hours per week (full-time) and clinic hours Mon–Fri 7:30am–5:30pm; location: Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. Responsibilities include gathering information relative to the patient’s visit, ensuring accurate PHI handling, and using EMR systems. Requires MA program completion or MA work experience (or RN/LPN license in Utah) and current BLS; preferred national MA certification (RMA, NCMA, CCMA, CMA). Competitive hourly range: $19.87–$28.31 depending on experience, with annualized salaries of approximately $41,330 to $58,885 depending on qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers
