Job Summary
Enroll in the online Medical Assistant program through Barton Community College and assist departments in clinical settings by scheduling appointments, taking vital signs, transporting patients, and providing clerical support. Perform observation and surveillance to prevent patient injury, help professional nurses with interventions, and interact with other departments as needed. Conduct cleaning and restock supplies under the direction of your supervisor. Complete Basic Life Support certification within the first 90 days and finish the medical assisting training program within one year of hire to become eligible for RMA certification through American Medical Technologists.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED
- Completion of a certified nursing assistant training course
- Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association- Health Care Provider) successfully completed within the first 90 days of employment
- Completion of medical assisting training program, within 1 year of hire, offered through Salina Regional Health Center
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years nurse assistant experience preferred
