Job Summary
Place patients in examination rooms, document visits in the electronic medical record, and measure vitals including blood pressure and pulse. Assist with exam setup, collect and perform routine laboratory specimens, and enter provider orders for approval. Explain treatment procedures and medications to patients while maintaining medical inventory and ensuring room cleanliness. Clean and sterilize instruments, order supplies, and manage phone scheduling and telephone encounters. Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and patient flow protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
- knowledge of medical terminology
- exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette
- ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- computer and/or EMR experience
