Job Summary
Place patients in examination rooms, document visits in the electronic medical record, and measure vitals including blood pressure and pulse. Assist with exam preparations, collect and perform routine laboratory specimens, and enter orders for provider review. Explain treatment procedures and medications to patients clearly. Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain medical inventory, and ensure room cleanliness between visits. Order supplies as needed and handle administrative tasks such as answering phones and scheduling appointments. Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and patient flow protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- Computer and/or EMR experience
