Job Summary
Assists with examinations and treatments under the direction of a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse or physician. Performs select clinical duties and conducts patient interviews, measures vital signs, and records information on patient charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examinations, handles basic clerical tasks (answering phones, maintaining records, filing), and performs materials management including ordering and stocking supplies. Maintains a clean and orderly environment and adheres to safety standards in a healthcare setting. Requires the ability to drive occasionally and to work as a PRN part-time team member, with responsibilities supervised by nursing staff. Must hold Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
- Graduate from a medical assistant school or training program or education equivalency for certification
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
