Job Summary
Perform clinical duties and procedures within the scope of practice according to NYS laws and protocols, ensuring patient comfort. Record vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and sterilize equipment as per guidelines. Assist physicians with clinical questions, prescription refills, test results, and patient calls. Prepare patient records for visits as directed by the provider. Maintain proficiency in aseptic techniques, sterilization, practice management systems, EMR, and scheduling protocols. Work onsite at 260 Tompkins St. Cortland in a rotating M-F schedule from 6:45am to 6:00pm across two locations.
Required Qualifications
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
- high school diploma or equivalent
- demonstrated clinical competency
- proficiency in aseptic techniques
- proficiency in sterilization
- proficiency in practice management systems
- proficiency in EMR
- proficiency in scheduling protocols
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- basic keyboard proficiency
- flexibility to work in two different locations
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
