Job Summary
Summons and prepares patients for office visits while assisting physicians with medical office procedures. Administers medications and injections, documenting all prescribed treatments per specialty requirements. Adheres to nursing policies when updating patient medical records and maintains office integrity. Accepts responsibility for current CPR certification and proactively reviews new policies and newsletters. Actively participates in care coordination as an integral member of the care team. Must hold a high school diploma or GED, complete an accredited Medical Assistant program or gain one year of relevant experience, and obtain Medical Assistant Certification within 90 days of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years
- Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment
- Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Medical Assistant
