Job Summary
Conduct patient registration, verify insurance eligibility, and process co-pays while scheduling appointments and coordinating provider referrals. Perform preliminary physical tests for vital signs, conduct point-of-care testing, and prepare patients for examinations. Manage front desk operations by answering calls, sorting correspondence, performing opening and closing duties, and maintaining supply inventory. Maintain medical records, scan charts, and ensure equipment calibration and quality control logs are up to date. Complete courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up and escalate critical cases to providers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire
- One of the following certifications at the time of hire: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN, LVN or RN
- EMT certification verified through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
- CNA certification
- For MA in WA State: Certified MA (AAMA, NCCT, CMA, RMA) and WA certificate OR Registered MA
- For MA in CA State: Graduate of MA school and Certified OR MA with additional internal training under Physician, NP, PA, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program
- 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience under a licensed healthcare supervisor within the last 3 years
- 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience within the last 3 years under a licensed healthcare supervisor in lieu of a Medical Assistant program
