Job Summary
Manage clinicians' daily schedules to optimize appointment availability, expedite care, and prioritize walk-ins and add-on patients. Directly support one or more clinicians by handling patient flow, access, and scheduling while resolving concerns regarding patient satisfaction and compliance with procedures. Coordinate practice operations when clinicians are unavailable, manage incoming mail and MyHealth messages, and verify prior authorizations. Assist in resolving patient concerns, handle third-party requests for documentation, and participate in care improvement activities like Rapid Improvement Events. Train and orient new staff, representing the department on electronic medical record upgrades.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- The ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs
- Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- 3+ years in a clinical setting with 1+ years as a Medical Assistant (a bachelor's or associate degree may be substituted for one year of experience)
- Knowledge of reagent stability and storage
- Understands the testing procedure and factors influencing test results
