Job Summary
Manage patient flow, access, and scheduling to optimize appointment availability and expedite care for clinicians. Resolve concerns regarding patient satisfaction, flow, and compliance with procedures while handling third-party requests for documentation. Coordinate practice operations when clinicians are unavailable, sort clinician mail, and verify prior authorizations. Serve as a role model to Medical Assistant I's, train new staff, and participate in care improvement activities like Rapid Improvement Events. May float across departments to learn operational practices in primary care or specialty areas.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- The ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs
- Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- 3+ years in a clinical setting with 1+ years as a Medical Assistant (a bachelor's or associate degree may be substituted for one year of experience)
- Knowledge of reagent stability and storage
- Understands the testing procedure and factors influencing test results
