Job Summary
Medical Assistant - Certified at Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Des Moines, WA. The MA is a key member of the patient care team, serving as the initial point of contact and ensuring delivery of patient-centered primary care services. Responsibilities include tracking and documenting clinical measures, coordinating referrals, administering injections and medications under physician order, assisting with charting and rooming, performing venipuncture, maintaining documentation in the EHR, supporting Care Coordination and Care Management activities, participating in team huddles, adherence to HIPAA and Sea Mar policies, and providing high-quality customer service using AIDET. The role requires proficiency with EHR and practice management systems, ability to work with diverse patient populations, and completion of required trainings and certifications. A pre-hire and annual health screening, flu vaccine, and BLS CPR within 90 days are required. Experience in Family Medicine preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is strongly desired.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an approved MA-C program and have a current Medical Assistant Certified license issued from Washington State Department of Health.
- Being Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly desired.
- Must be an MA-Certified or possess an MA-Interim License and pass the exam within the 90 day probationary period.
