Job Summary
Conduct patient intakes, manage vital signs and medical history, and perform venipuncture, urine dipsticks, stool collection, and rapid tests like Strep, Flu, and RSV. Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing, prepare exam rooms, and assist providers during physical exams. Operate CBC analyzers and urinalysis machines, run quality control procedures for glucose monitoring and PT/INR, and document data in Laboratory Information Systems. Package and send specimens to external labs while maintaining equipment sterilization and electronic medical records. Work 4/10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday between 7:30am and 6:00pm with RDO Friday, reporting to New York Health in Rocky Point, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma
- Valid MA Certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals
- Attention to detail and professional conduct
- Reliable transportation to travel between NYCBS locations
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1 year of working in an outpatient medical facility
- Experience with EMR's
