Job Summary

Conduct patient registration, verify insurance eligibility, and process co-pays while managing check-in and appointment scheduling. Perform preliminary physical tests including vital signs, conduct patient interviews, and draw blood specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepare examination rooms, perform point-of-care testing for flu, strep, and urinalysis, and coordinate provider referrals. Maintain supply inventory, stock exam areas, and ensure equipment calibration and preventive maintenance. Manage medical records, scan charts, and handle incoming correspondence and phone calls. Execute opening and closing duties, including cashing out and building security.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant in a Hospital, Primary Care, Emergency Department, or Urgent Care setting
  • CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA, National Healthcareer Association)
  • CMA - Certified Health Professionals (verified through CHP, Certified Health Professionals)
  • CMA- Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA, American Association of Medical Assistant)
  • CMA - AAH American Allied Health
  • RMA- Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT, American Medical Technologists)
  • NCMA- National Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NCCT, National Center of Competency Testing)
  • NRCMA- Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (verified through the NAHP, National Association for Health Professionals)
  • ARMA - American Registry of Medical Assistants
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, LPN or LVN at the time of hire (verified through state license)
  • EMT- Emergency Medical Technician (verified through state certification and/or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
  • Paramedic (verified through state certification and/or and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
  • CPOE certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ability to type quickly
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Detail oriented
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to interact and treat all persons with fairness, respect and sensitivity to cultural/social difference
