Medical Assistant

Place patients in examination rooms and document vitals, medications, and visit reasons in the electronic medical record. Perform screening procedures including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Assist with setting up equipment for exams and collect or perform routine laboratory specimens. Enter proposed orders for provider review, obtain outside test results, and explain treatment procedures and medications to patients. Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain inventory, and ensure room cleanliness. Order supplies, answer phones, schedule appointments, and create telephone encounters. Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and patient flow protocols.
