Job Summary
Medical Assistants perform intake, collect lab specimens, chart in electronic medical records, administer immunizations, assist with minor procedures, and provide other supportive functions for the clinical team. They collaborate with providers to execute care tasks, deliver care according to the member's care plan, close opening/closing tasks for daily operations, and support the care team to meet clients’ needs and ensure proper hand-offs. Key skills include proficiency with EHR systems, strong customer service and communication, ability to work with diverse populations, teamwork, organization, confidentiality, and adaptability to shift priorities. Must have a High School degree or CMA certification with at least 3 years in primary care, CPR or BLS certification, and fluency in English with preferred bilingual English/Spanish capability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent of 10 years experience as a Medical Assistant
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care
- CPR Certification
- Computer skills to enter information in EHR system and compile reports/data
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
- Experience with Phlebotomy (preferred)
- BLS Certification (preferred)
