Job Summary
Medical Assistant (Rheumatology) in an ambulatory clinic setting. Under clinician supervision, assist the provider by gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition, provide patient care, and support communication with patients via telephone and in-person interactions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patient care, with emphasis on attention to detail and follow-through to ensure high-quality care. Located at Cottonwood Medical Clinic in Murray, UT, schedule is 40 hours per week in a full-time role with clinic hours typically Monday–Friday. Must have MA program completion or substantial MA experience or RN/LPN license in Utah, plus active BLS and basic computer/EMR skills; preferred MA certification and outpatient clinic experience.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program
- At least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active RN/LPN license in Utah
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver patient satisfaction
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting
- Current national MA certification from one of the following: AMT RMA, NCMA, CCMA, CMA (AAMA)
- EMR proficiency or computer literacy with electronic medical records
- MA residency program may be offered for certified MA with less than one year experience
- BLS for healthcare providers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers
- Commitment to patient privacy and PHI protection
