Job Summary
Document patient information accurately and timely into medical records while obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies and generating medical renewals under licensed provider supervision. Assist licensed practical nurses with pump, sensor, and meter approval information and provide clinical coverage as needed within the Rheumatology Wellness Way ambulatory setting. Adhere to organizational regulatory compliance and patient-centered care principles while accepting appropriate delegation from registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, or licensed independent practitioners.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Certified Medical Assistant with accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
- Access to information based on a 'need to know' regarding HIPAA Protected Health Information
- Ensure that information is adequately protected from unauthorized access and modification
