Job Summary
Medical Assistant provides patient care under the supervision of Providers and the Practice Supervisor/Manager. Includes taking vitals, performing injections/immunizations, charting and documentation, exam room preparation, infectious waste handling, sterile techniques, triage of calls, routine lab procedures, and effective communication with patients and families. Requires proficiency in scheduling/billing software, EHR/intranet use, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Must demonstrate compassion, teamwork, and commitment to patient satisfaction and safety; adherence to AIDET principles; and willingness to take ownership and support colleagues. Education preferred or required includes completion of a Medical Assisting program or EMT certification, with MA II consideration for CMA/RMA/CCMA certification; BLS certification listed.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Medical Assisting course or EMT certification will be considered for MA I; completion of Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA, CCMA) will be considered for MA II
- BLS, CMA, CCMA or RMA certifications are relevant
- Education & Experience: CMA/RMA/CCMA may be preferred for higher MA levels
- Licensure & Certification: None required beyond listed certifications
