Job Summary
Medical Assistant at EvergreenHealth supports providers in delivering patient care and maintaining safety. Responsibilities include greeting and rooming patients, taking patient history and vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting with exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing, maintaining sterile environments per Washington State transmission precautions, and administering injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular). Must efficiently use EMR and communicate clearly in writing and speech, with appropriate medical terminology knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent or applicable coursework to be applied to obtain WA State Medical Assistant Certification
- Current WA State Medical Assistant Certification
- Current national certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
- Proficient with medical terminology
- 1 year of MA experience in a medical office or healthcare setting (DESIRED)
- National certification through the American Associations of Medical Assistants (AAMA) strongly preferred
