Job Summary
Medical Assistant needed for an employer health center in Milwaukee, WI, focused on primary care. Responsibilities include measuring and recording vital signs, accurate EMR documentation, assisting with patient examinations, applying CPR when needed, maintaining supplies and sterilizing instruments, providing patient instructions, ensuring confidentiality, participating in team-based care, front office duties (reception, check-in/check-out, scheduling, payments), potential routine screening tests, drawing blood and preparing samples for lab analysis, administering injections/immunizations, changing dressings and sutures, coordinating referrals, and travel may be required for certain clients/centers. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, plus bilingual Spanish a plus; commitment to preventative health care and collaboration within a team are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of accredited school of medical assisting, or combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum One (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant
- CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Medical Assistant certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT
