Job Summary
Medical Assistant in a Pulmonary clinic at Northwestern Medicine, supporting physicians, nurses, and the patient care team to ensure efficient clinic flow. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, obtaining and documenting vitals, assisting with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA-waived testing, maintaining exam areas, ordering supplies, and communicating with patients and the care team to promote patient satisfaction. Requires a high school diploma or GED and certification eligibility (CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NRCMA/CCMA) within six months, plus BLS/CPR certification. 0-2 years of relevant experience and strong computer skills are expected. Preferred: completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; experience with electronic medical records; working in ambulatory care. Northwestern Medicine is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current certification eligibility for CMA/RCMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA or equivalent (within six months)
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
- 0-2 years of relevant experience

- Completion of accredited Medical Assistant training preferred (not required)
