Job Summary
Conduct high-quality, compassionate patient care within an integrated practice team, functioning as primary clinical support for specialized psychiatric patients. Coordinate efficient clinical workflows, communicate professionally with all team members and patients, and provide training, mentoring, and resource support to other Medical Assistants. Work under direct Nursing Department supervision while managing diverse tasks including patient intake, vital signs, and documentation. Requires one year of psychiatric care experience, bilingual skills in English and Spanish, and the ability to handle stress from demanding patients.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medial Assisting program
- Currently certified/registered
- Two-three years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant working with patients seeking or engaged in psychiatric related care or treatment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with public and other staff persons
- Strong customer relations and communication skills
- Proven record of customer service excellence
- Articulate telephone voice
- Legible penmanship
- Reasonable spelling skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities and tasks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Sound judgment
- Ability to handle stress related to demanding or difficult patients/team members, competing priorities, and changing processes
