Job Summary
PRN Medical Assistant role supporting urgent care centers with clinical care (triage, vitals/history collection, venipuncture, CLIA-waived testing, minor procedures, wound care, EKGs, nebulizer therapy) and front desk/insurance verification duties (patient registration, eligibility, financial responsibility, co-pays, EMR accuracy). Requires completion of an accredited MA program, active national MA certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent) at hire, 1+ year experience with insurance verification and patient registration, and active BLS or onboarding-period BLS. EMR proficiency (Experity preferred) and comfort with payer portals (Waystar) are expected; willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends and float to nearby centers. Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
- At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration.
- Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within defined onboarding period.
- Urgent care or emergency room experience highly valued.
- EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); comfort with payer portals (e.g., Waystar).
