Job Summary
Medical Assistant in a primary care value-based practice supports in-clinic visits by rooming patients, documenting vitals and medical history, and assisting providers. The role includes telephonic outreach, care coordination, documenting clinical data in the EHR (AthenaHealth), medication reconciliation, coordinating referrals and prior authorizations, scheduling, and helping patients access community resources. This position emphasizes teamwork, adapting to a fast-paced clinic, and contributing to preventive and coordinated care for adult and geriatric patients. Requires CMA certification or minimum two years in primary care, with EMR experience and strong knowledge of medical terminology; preferred experience in outpatient settings and phlebotomy, plus comfort with telehealth and care coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant or minimum of two years’ experience in primary care
- Primary care or outpatient clinic experience strongly preferred
- MA or phlebotomy certification strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic pharmacology
- Experience with team-based care models
- Care coordination or case management experience preferred
- Experience with adult and geriatric patients preferred
- EMR experience preferred; AthenaHealth ideal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
