Job Summary
Assist junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities while participating in onboarding training. Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment, interview patients to obtain medical information, and measure vital signs, weight, and height. Record information in patient medical records, explain treatment procedures and medications, and order educational materials. Perform general office duties including answering phones, taking dictation, completing insurance forms, and acting as a liaison with other departments. Collect blood and tissue specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated. Maintain inventory of immunizations, check expiration dates, and provide immunizations as applicable. Improve departmental quality initiatives such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene. Work onsite Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 6:00pm for 40 hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years
- Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
- Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification]
- Associate's Degree Medical Assisting
