Job Summary
The Medical Assistant in Primary Care provides basic direct patient care activities including lab tests, treatments, and medication administration under the supervision of nursing or physician staff. Responsibilities also include clerical support, patient data collection, documentation accuracy, and infection control adherence. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have strong organizational and communication skills, and preferably prior outpatient office experience. Certifications and clearances are required as specified.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or next level of higher education
- Strong leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Sound judgment
- Knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
- Strong ability to communicate complex topics
Desired Qualifications
- Previous outpatient office experience
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant program or experience as a Medical Assistant for one (1) year
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
