Job Summary
Conduct clinical and administrative patient duties within primary or specialty care teams, including gathering, organizing, and documenting healthcare data to ensure smooth patient flow. Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy as required for specific departments, maintaining competency in California regulations. Work varying shifts and travel to multiple sites as assigned to fulfill diverse patient needs. Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, one year of ambulatory experience, and BLS certification. Offers a per diem rate of $32.87 to $44.38 hourly at John Muir Health, a nationally recognized non-profit serving Contra Costa, Alameda, and southern Solano Counties.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Medical Assistant Program - Accredited
- 1 year Ambulatory
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Certification
- Completion and documentation of California requirements with demonstrated competency for venipuncture/phlebotomy - (required for specific departments)

- 1 year Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- CMA - Certified Medical Assistant
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
