Medical Assistant - Primary Care

Job Summary
Assist providers with non-invasive medical procedures, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams. Perform patient intake duties such as reporting test results, phone triage, and documenting medical information. Prepare and clean exam rooms before visits and clinical procedures. Support administrative tasks like pre-registering patients, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance eligibility. Maintain daily logs, monitor supply inventory, and educate patients on medications and diets. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 with no weekends, holidays, or on-call rotation. Requires BCLS certification and U.S. work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) required
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. for an employer
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Complies with all policies and standards
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of Medical Assistant program from an accredited school preferred
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and patient care techniques
- Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and medical record systems
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional service to patients and staff
- Understanding of medical terminology and infection control practices
- Effective time management, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Critical thinking abilities to analyze situations and develop appropriate solutions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
