Medical Assistant - Primary Care

Medical Assistant for multispecialty medical practice in Katy/Houston, TX. Responsibilities include rooming patients, interviewing/updating chief complaint and medical history, taking vitals, preparing patient charts and verifying benefits, scanning documents, stocking rooms, refilling medications with physician-directed authorization, ensuring in-network referrals are current, assisting the physician with wound care or procedures, following up on calls, educating patients about DI, labs, referrals, and procedures, scheduling follow-up appointments, obtaining authorizations when needed, handling fax distribution, and performing related duties. Requires certification/registration as a Medical Assistant; bilingual a plus; experience in a medical office or customer service environment; strong communication, multitasking, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred.
