Job Summary
Room patients by interviewing chief complaints, updating medical histories, and taking vitals while preparing charts a week in advance and verifying benefits. Scan documents, refill medications with physician direction, and obtain pre-authorizations. Ensure physicians are in-network and verify referrals. Assist with wound care and procedures, educate patients on labs and referrals, and schedule follow-up appointments. Manage phone logs, distribute faxes, and maintain clean, stocked rooms throughout the day. Travel to other CLS Health locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
Desired Qualifications
- Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
