Job Summary
Coordinate patient care and office operations under provider direction by preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting history, tobacco, and medication screenings in the EHR. Administer medications, perform back office testing, and cue up prescriptions or screenings per approved protocols. Assist with examinations, ensure exam room and inventory stock, and sterilize instruments per manufacturer guidelines. Provide patient follow-ups via preferred methods and notify patients of test results under provider direction. May float between physician office locations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification
- Certification in NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or AMCA
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Ability to comply with HIPAA
- Ability to comply with company's Code of Business Conduct
- Ability to comply with applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Ability to comply with company policies and training requirements
- Ability to comply with data security guidelines
- Ability to comply with all data security guidelines established within the Company's Handbook of Privacy Policies and Practices
- Ability to comply with Information Security Policy
- Ability to comply with the ethical and legal standards and behavioral expectations as set forth in the code of business conduct and company policies
- Ability to protect covered information, cardholder data, or other confidential customer information
- Ability to float/travel between physician office locations
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- One year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years
- Graduation from a medical assistant program within five years
