Job Summary
Escort patients to exam rooms, take histories and vital signs, and assist providers with exams and procedures. Prepare exam rooms and instruments, maintain sterile fields, and use aseptic techniques. Administer medications, injections, and immunizations; apply splints and dressings. Perform electrocardiograms, handle specimens, and input data into the Electronic Medical Records system. Respond to telephone calls, instruct patients on medication and treatment, and assist with triage and scheduling. Maintain patient confidentiality, check expiration dates on supplies, and properly dispose of biohazards. Requires full range of motion, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work irregular hours. Must hold a Certified Medical Assistant license, CPR certification, and three years of clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- graduate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
- Three or more years of hands on experience with a broad knowledge and understanding of practices and procedures performed in a clinical setting
- Certified Medical Assistant
- continued recertification (Certified Medical Assistant)
- CPR certification
- continued recertification (CPR)
- MMR or Flu vaccination (or approved medical or religious exemption)
- PPD
- Background Check
- Drug Testing
