Job Summary

Perform patient-oriented procedures, tasks, and workflows from patient check-in to check-out at all LLUHC sites under the supervision of physician, supervisor, and/or licensed staff. Provide Medical Assistant coverage to various LLUHC Departments as requested or required while exemplifying the organization's Values and Mission. Maintain proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and operate basic office and patient care equipment. This role requires a credentialed Medical Assistant with at least one year of clinical experience and current Basic Life Support certification. Candidates must hold a valid California Driver's license, auto insurance, and demonstrate the ability to work calmly under pressure while managing multiple assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Proof of completion from a Credentialed or Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant (MA) program
  • Minimum of up to one year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Basic Life Support- Provider Course (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Valid/Current unrestricted California Driver's license
  • Valid/Current auto insurance
  • Able to consistently and effectively use computer keyboard
  • Able to read; write legibly
  • Speak in English with professional quality
  • Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic office/patient care equipment required for the position
  • Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) user
  • Knowledge of outpatient clinic front office and back office practices and policies
  • Phlebotomy certificate
