Job Summary
Greet patients in person and by telephone, then schedule and register them using the electronic data record. Triage patients and report medical problems to providers while completing physician orders. Collect blood, hair, and urine for testing, and discharge patients by administering medication, immunizations, and applying splints, braces, or casts. Perform evidence collection, documentation, and analysis according to federal regulations for forensic testing. This role requires CPR, TBTST, and drug screen collection certifications within 90 days. Candidates must be high school graduates with at least one year of experience in medical assisting, phlebotomy, or related fields. The position offers a $2,000–$4,000 sign-on bonus and access to the Medical Assistant Advancement Pathway.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or the equivalent with GED
- Completed at least one year of education as a medical assistant, phlebotomist, emergency medical technician, pharmacy technician or have equivalent work experience
- CPR certification
- TBTST certification
- DOT Breath Alcohol and Urine Drug Screen Collection certification
- Hair Drug Screen Collection certification
- Completed externship or equivalent training in a medical office or hospital setting
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of clinical and clerical operations
- Must be familiar with computers
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Applied Science in Medical or related field
- Medical Assistant certification
- Minimum of one year of experience in medical assisting, phlebotomy, pharmacy technician, emergency medical technician, or related experience
- Experience managing cash and credit card payments
- Experience with electronic medical record
- Clinical quality initiatives
