Job Summary
Senior Medical Assistant in an ambulatory Plastic Surgery clinic providing patient care under clinician direction. Responsible for gathering information relative to visits, communicating with patients via telephone and in-person interactions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and using EMR to document and support care. 40 hours/week, full-time schedule Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm in Salt Lake City, UT at Intermountain Health Primary Children’s Hospital/Clinic. emphasizes attention to privacy (PHI), customer/patient satisfaction, and maintaining accurate patient information while supporting the clinical team.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers
- Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program
- Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA (AAMA), CMA
