Job Summary

Welcome patients, complete intake by rooming them, obtaining medical history, and verifying information. Document vital signs, update electronic medical records accurately, and assist providers during examinations while performing point-of-care testing. Maintain exam rooms and storage areas by stocking supplies and ensuring cleanliness, then clean and disinfect treatment rooms to follow safety standards. Respond promptly to patient communications via calls, portal messages, emails, and voicemails throughout the day. Perform pre-visit planning, proactively monitor preventive care measures, and conduct outreach after specialist consultations or hospital discharges to coordinate follow-up. Provide backup front office support for check-in, check-out, and appointment scheduling while maintaining required logs for clinic supplies. Work five days a week, 40 hours, within a physician-led network focused on personalized, relationship-centered care.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduation from an accredited healthcare program, such as Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT, or equivalent work experience
  • Maintain certifications in accordance with state guidelines
  • Strong computer skills
  • At least year Medical Assistant experience in family or internal medicine
  • Current BLS card
  • 3 years of experience in family medicine or pediatrics
  • Experience with the Athenahealth practice management system
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus

Desired Qualifications

  • Nationally recognized Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • EMR experience
