Job Summary
Room patients for examination and treatment, collect detailed medical histories, and prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies. Perform post-operative wound care, suture removal, dressing changes, and cast application under physician direction. Assist with medical procedures, document phone calls and actions in the EMR, and maintain DME supplies while following HIPAA and ONS policies. Follow up on patient care notes and provide education to address patient questions. This role supports Spire Orthopedic Partners' network of 165 physicians across the Northeast, allowing doctors to focus on patient care.
Required Qualifications
- General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to handle high stress, busy work environment
- Knowledge of Word & Outlook
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant diploma
- Medical Assistant Certification
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience working in an outpatient clinic setting
- National certification as registered medical assistant
- Orthopedic and/or casting experience
- Knowledge of GE Centricity
- Professional, and articulate phone skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
