Job Summary
Document patient intake information, responses, and actions into the Electronic Health Record before provider visits. Complete assigned clinical and non-clinical duties, including performing procedures within scope, coordinating outside medical records, and ensuring patients understand discharge instructions. Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with Joint Commission standards and HIPAA requirements while managing medication inventory and supplies. Resolve problems using critical-thinking skills and communicate proactively with patients to promote compliance. Adhere to all organizational policies, safety programs, and competency evaluations as part of daily operations at an assigned clinic location.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.)
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved and accredited educational institution
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers
- Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment
- Valid driver's license
- One year of experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory health care setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages
- Influenza vaccination
- Pass drug testing prior to employment
- Comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements
