Job Summary
The Medical Assistant position involves providing clinical and administrative support for providers and patients in a pediatric urgent care setting. Responsibilities include greeting and registering patients, obtaining medical history and vital signs, preparing patients for X-rays, performing routine labs, assisting with wounds, and ensuring exam rooms and reception areas are stocked and clean. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, prior Medical Assistant experience, knowledge of EKG processing in children, and the ability to handle laboratory tests such as nasal swabs and venipuncture. Strong communication skills and the capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
- Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture
- Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Prior pediatric experience
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children
- Experience with medical records
- Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to learn medical software
