Job Summary
Greet and register patients, obtain medical history and vital signs, and prepare individuals for X-rays. Perform and document routine labs including throat and urine cultures, irrigate wounds, and assist with quality control testing. Support providers by applying splints, assisting in medical procedures, and handling emergency patient distress by notifying the medical team. Maintain exam room and waiting room cleanliness, manage front reception supplies, and ensure strict confidentiality of patient care information. Follow policies and procedures while responding to emergencies and assisting with service recovery for patient complaints.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children
- Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture
- Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Prior pediatric experience
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing to learn medical software
- Experience with medical records
