Job Summary
Greet patients, obtain medical histories and current medications, and document all information in patient records. Assist with patient flow, prepare for visits, and support physicians in conducting exams and office procedures under direct supervision. Perform applicable medical procedures including collecting laboratory specimens, administering injections, and performing venipuncture as allowed by state regulations. Communicate instructions to patients, assist with scheduling tests and follow-up appointments, and respond to calls for referrals and triage. Maintain exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and process messages from patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
- Must have the ability to follow universal precautions, OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Superior customer service skills
- High level of professionalism
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- 1+ years in an office-based setting
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant
- CPR/BLS certification
- Experience in Healthcare
