Job Summary
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians, PAs, or NPs with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care, and procedures, including preparing examination rooms, escorting patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting in EHR. Required skills include effective communication, organization, and proficiency with medical equipment. Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire, and the ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma, have graduated from an accredited medical assistant program, and ideally have 0-4 years of related work experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program
- 0-1 year related work experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Basic proficiency in computer use
