Job Summary
Under supervision, assist in coordinating the examination, treatment, and health care planning for pediatric patients. Key responsibilities include preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, administering screenings, performing back office testing, assisting providers during examinations, ensuring exam rooms are stocked and sanitized, documenting accurate patient information in EHR, and providing patient follow-up. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, medical assistant program completion, valid CPR certification, background checks, and relevant medical assistant certification.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant OR 1 year in a direct patient care role
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
Additional Requirements
- Employees who have graduated from a medical assistant program within five years OR proof of one year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years must complete certification training and/or attempt testing within 30 days of hire and must obtain certification within 120 days of hire.
