Job Summary
Gathers and updates patient information and vital signs in charts based on visit type. Completes clinical tasks including medication and vaccine administration, diagnostic screenings, specimen collection, and in-office procedure setup. Coordinates patient care management with in-house specialties, community resources, and acute care facilities. Performs administrative duties such as patient outreach and scheduling, while maintaining clinical equipment and documenting accurately into the electronic medical record. Works under the delegation of a licensed clinician to deliver patient- and family-centered care in an outpatient setting. Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA guidelines and InterMed policies.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- 0+ years of experience
- Current CMA or RMA certification preferred
- BLS required within 6 weeks of hire
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to rapidly changing, sometimes acute patient care needs
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications
- EMR experience
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree program preferred
- Current CMA or RMA certification preferred
