Job Summary
Escort patients to exam rooms, validate identifiers, and measure vital signs. Collect blood and lab samples, perform point-of-care testing (EKG, glucose, urinalysis), and document patient history in EPIC. Assist physicians with intake, transcribe visits, and manage prescription refill requests. Clean and stock exam rooms, maintain infection control standards, and ensure proper specimen handling. Answer phone calls, respond to in-basket messages, and facilitate prior authorizations. Maintain patient privacy per HIPAA and promote a positive experience through the CARES service strategy. Complete annual competencies and support MIPS documentation workflows.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution
- Current medical assistant Certification from a Nationally Recognized accredited institution (such as American Association of Medical Assistant(AAMA); American Medical Technologies (AMT); National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); National Healthcare Association (NHA))
- Working knowledge of English is evident in verbal, reading and writing abilities
